: I'm using the thin plastic scraper/squeegee approach I did for the
: fibreglassing but as I spread it across the bumpy surface I'm getting
: loads of foam.

: Should I use a brush or roller? Or just apply heavier? I could try but rather
: than make a mess if anyone has a strong opinion before I start the next
: round could they let me know.

Heat, heat, heat. Did I say heat?

80 degrees plus, for shop, boat, resin.

Small resin batches, slow hardener, thin coat, tip off with a foam brush.

I don't like squeegees except for removing excess from the wet-out because most are too hard and create foam as they are firmly pressed against the rough glass texture. I use a squeegee made from a plastic milk bottle which is difficult to press too hard with.

Most people want to apply too much resin in fill coats. I think a "West System" roller cover does it best, tipped off with a foam brush.

For details see my "Transparent Lay-ups" page.

Good luck,
Rob
