You only need half frames, just the deck, they can be fitted to the completed hull I'd think. They are temporary, are removed after the deck is stripped and outside is glassed. Using the pre-cut strips you can lay them on the frames to judge the shape you'll get, then adjust as needed. Remember that boats were originally designed by eye or from a carved model, not from computer generated shapes. You're just using a full sized model :)
