Got a chance to try a friend's solar AA Battery charger on an extended paddle last summer and think I got one usable charge in overcast conditions. Don't know the brand name and it appeared to be a cheapie ($30.) Have seen a pretty fancy one with three solar panels that spread out from a single pivot- $100. Any one used this or any other that might keep camera, GPS, SPOT, VHS and head lamp going on extended paddles?
