I built a Breat Aul Double too. :-) I tried to use it without a rudder for a couple of years. The guy paddling in the back has to work his ass off all the time. It takes away all the enjoyment of paddling such a pretty boat. I finally added a rudder and was pissed at myself for not doing it sooner. Don't wait!
