Good point, Paul. I have a Chesapeake 17 I call "Waft" which stands for "Weighs A F***ing Tonne" as I went a little (lot) overboard with the epoxy (my first build). The bow pour is sufficiently big that I reckon I'd come off best if I rammed a steel ship :-)

But I can still carry it on my shoulder to the water's edge whilst my mate has to trolley his plastic one. So yes, a few pounds doesn't make too much difference.

I am currently favouring the CLC Mill Creek 13. An older design, but it has that retro decked canoe feel and a big cockpit I can use for gear, a cooler behind the cockpit, rod storage, etc. Oh, and a drinks cabinet!

Thanks,
Darren
