Skin-on-Frame: How long should ribs be

I am building a SOF using Morris's book. I measured and cut the ribs to length using the method he describes in the book. I found however that some ribs were just too long and would push the keel stringer up and/or would create a tumblehome shape. I trimmed them down so that they fit properly. In his book he mentions that I should stick to using the rule then adjust the lengths near the ends of the boat to make a smooth transition. I concerned that my trimming the ribs by eye may have a detrimental effect on the end result and would be prepared to start this step over again if I thought it was going to cause me problems. (although I don't look forward to doing this). Maybe my initial measuring was off (although I did check it twice). At this point they all seem to look pretty good and I know that when they are all tied into the keelson and stringers it should pull all into line. Should I go back to the drawing board on these ribs or continue on?
Maybe I'm just worrying too much, like a new parent.
