Our first ever Thanksgiving Day paddle didn't quite go as planned. We all showed up at the lake about 8:30 this am only to find one of the paddling club members out walking on the lake, not a good sign. Had perhaps 3/4" of ice on the lake. After a while of talking and warming with hot cider about half of us drove to the river which was still ice free. Yep, cold, but nice to be out paddling this late in the season

Btw, it's really strange to have to scrape frost off your boat to go paddling.
