Strip: new bulkhead material

I was looking around the shop recently, finally finishing the Laughing Loon Disko Bay and needed a forward bulkhead. The aft one I laminated of strips and covered the cockpit side with carbon cloth, looks cool and is the same finish as the coaming. But for the forward one, which is always hidden and only needs to be water resistant, was looking for a light material.

Had a couple pieces of 1/16" aircraft birch plywood and thought "what the heck", laminated it with 4 ounce glass both sides, finished bulkhead weighs a little over 5 ounces :) And, with ply this thin it can't create a hard spot on the bottom, it'll just deflect. Looks really nice too, birch ply has a great grain.
