Hi: on my actual project a nigth heron I have on mind the use of poplar as one of the wood species, recently a friend of mine told me not to use it, he says poplar soon will rot. I does not know if he is rigth. ¿ has anybody used poplar for stripbulding kayaks? my friend says epoxy does not mantains water out, and poplar with the rigth content of moisture will rot soon. he says altough the wood is encapsulated on epoxy the moisture content will raise if the wood is submerged on water, ¿ is he rigth? ¿ is certain epoxy is not a barrier against water? ¿ is poplar a good wood for stripbuilding my project? any advice will be very useful. Ramiro.
