Material: Problem with ripples in glass cloth surface

I am sure I am not the only one to have this problem, but dispite my best efforts I seem to always end up with some ripples or waviness in the fiberglass cloth when covering the hull and deck. I have tried it both with and without a seal coat prior to applying cloth and that doesn't seem to make any difference.
I generally use 6oz cloth and MAS epoxy. The ripples seem to show up when the epoxy is cured to the point where working out the irregularities is not possible. Could this problem be cause by an excess of epoxy resin?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
