I just got back from my sailing in s. Ill, which was a gathering of home made boats and sails. I saw a couple of boats called a Puddle Duck which I at first thought was a joke but after seeing how much sail they could carry I changed my mind. One puddle duck was carrying 60 sqft of sail. What's interesting is the hulls must all be the same sizes the first 8" up from the bottom and then almost anything goes for this class sailing. The deck, sails, etc. Class rules in the link. Since keeping the weight down by strip building might be just the thing for class sailing this boat. I could see a lot of uses for this little boat. Anyway, I thought I would put this out for anyone interested.

I received my cheap $19 sail from e-bay. It sets up quick with my existing mast like it was made for it. I'm going to try it out in a few hours.
