Other: Sliding stroke with greenland storm paddle *LINK*

I plan on getting a greenland storm paddle (like regular greenland paddle but shorter). I understand the typical usage of such paddle is the sliding technique - somewhat similar to canoeing stroke where the top hand grasps the paddle at the end and you slide the paddle in your hands to alternate the sides.

Has anyone used this stroke? If so
a) how does it differ from the regular kayaking stroke as far as body biomechanics (muscles involved)?
b) what is the level of effort for the given boat speed?
c) is this stroke sustainable over long distances?
d) any other thoughts?
