I'm building Duane's 'Mini Benny' play boat and am really going to try and make it light as possible but also strong enough to take a pounding in the surf (no rocks to worry about around here). Would 4 oz glass outside and inside be strong enough? I'll tape the shear inside and out as well. I plan on using peelply for the layups to cut down on fill coasts - have used it on my previous S&G build (a 6oz glass kayak) but only on small jobs.
