: Hi All,
: I'm 'getting there' with my North Star build and was wondering what combined
: wisdom was with regard to installing foot rests. Have a set of Yakima
: footrests and imagine just reinforce the area with glass layers and bolt
: in. Did I see somewhere that people also mount a piece of wood inside the
: hull so then the bolts don't pierce the hull?..
: Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Pat. Don't make holes in the hull. Use blocks. It is little trouble and worhth the extra effort. A plastic screw hatch in the fore bulkhead can make it easier to get in to adjust the footrests if they jam if you are using an ocean cockpit.
