What I have tried is to tie a bit of 3/16" to 1/4" cord around each side of the paddle on the loom or blade in an area that doesn't interfere with paddling too much. Works ok, but often this means that the drip ring is far enough out on the blade so that it goes below the water when paddling, which still lets water on the blade past the drip ring run towards center and drip into the cockpit. This type of drip ring gets in the way of a full sliding stroke, as would carving an integral drip ring like East Canadian paddles.

The best solution I've come up with is this: When the water is really cold, I wear a lot of neoprene to keep the cold at bay, but it has the added benefit of keeping the drips off the paddle from touching one's skin. :)

: Tried out my first two Greenland Paddles this weekend. Promptly found a flaw
: in my first one. SNAP! Used the second one a while and man does it feel
: different! I didn't get to use it long because I didn't have a skirt and
: it was soaking me. It was way to cold to paddle in wet pants so I had to
: switch to a Euro paddle with drip rings. Once I get my boat built I will
: be buying and using a skirt.

: So, has anyone found a effective way to control dripping on the GP? My
: thoughts were maybe a notch in the blade or tying a fancy knot out of some
: string on the blade.
