Hi Nick,

I've been trying to submit some South Platte river pics on the "Kayak Trips"
forum for the past day or so, but repeated attempts have failed. I dropped
some words in case they offended the filter :) , and also reduced the size of
my attached pic. It tells me that it's been submitted, but the post never
shows up.

I will submit again here on the main forum, and if it miraculously appears,
perhaps you can transfer it to the "Kayak Trips" forum. If you do, please
ignore the other 8 million postings I already made of this same info.

Original Post below.....

: suggest the remote wilderness run on the original Platee?

Below are some pics of the South Platte river system in the Colorado foothills
near my home. If this isn't what you are after, enjoy it anyway :)

The North Fork of the South Platte river begins near Kenosha Pass but is fed
mostly from Dillon Reservoir via the Roberts Tunnel. The river passes near my
home in Bailey.

The next few miles past Bailey are Class 4 / 5 whitewater with the take-out
at Pine Valley Ranch near the town of Pine.

A few miles further downstream is the stretch of the North Fork / South Platte
between Buffalo Creek and Foxton.

A few miles farther downstream is the confluence of the South Platte
( below Deckers) and the North Fork. The South Platte now begins dropping
into Platte Canyon / Waterton Canyon. A couple miles below below this point
the river enters Strontia Springs Reservoir . The river then drops onto
the prairie below and flows through the Denver area and beyond. I'll leave
the rest to the flatlanders :)

The attached pic was taken just below the confluence of the North Fork
and the South Platte....

Tom
