I think you are off on the rib guage. For a 7 inch rib gauge with 24 ribs, my 7th rib addition to the gunwale width is 5 7/8".

At the mortises
: closest to my deck beam 7 this is 17 7/8" + 4 1/2" = 22
: 3/8".
