My Night Heron construction is progressing, having plenty of enjoyable building time over the Thanksgiving holiday and recent weeks. The link below leads to some recent photos, mostly working on the hatches and coaming.

The deck and hull are now joined, though I had a hectic time with the inside seam. The 3" fiberglass tape that I bought was a very poor quality: it wouldn't even lay flat, much less wet-out clear. I ripped it out and quickly replaced it with cloth strips cut on the bias from spare cloth. Never again.

Next steps are feathering in the outside seam, a skim coat or two over the boat, bulkheads, varnish, seat & backrest, deck rigging, and float test. Maybe the new year weekend.
