Material: Kayak hatch holdowns

The idea for holding down hatches in rough conditions (or for me with my bad luck, just paddling along anywhere) has led me to use screw down fittings. The problem with that is that the fittings can be lost.

Jurgen who has a biz building kayaks uses brass latches (but won't share the source of them) which seems to be a good idea. We're building a SG Night Heron and the hatch hold-downs are being considered. So looking around we found small s/s straight-loop catches at

We're thinking to use 4 per hatch
Catch: CAC201X
Striker: CAS201X

When we get back we'll install them and report on the effectivness. Dave ordered them a couple days ago.
