Material: Varnish, how do you filter it

Hi all
I have noted on a few posts that people talk about filtering their varnish to make it reusable, what do you filter it through? Coffee filters, cheese cloth, mesh! Also people talk about Mason jars for storage, I am afraid that those of us in the Antipodes (or me at least) dont have a clue what a Mason jar is, could someone explain or post a picture so I can figure what the Aussie equivalent is. Should have the varnishing finished this week and some completed boat pictures to post. Then it is off to the water, hooray
Thanks
David

Don't forget about the air in the jar...
