I looked at my filleted and taped deck-hull seams and am considering what to do to get the tape farther into the ends. Right now, the tape ends too far from the bow and stern -- not the "a foot" shorter like the kit instructions say but more like 1.5 ft. I know there will be end pours but I really don't want an end pour that huge.

I am weighing the Conventional Idea of getting a really long stick and putting in an extension to the fillet and tape with that; the relatively short piece of tape should be easier to lay down than if I had tried to roll the original tape in that length (I am a small person). Still difficult but I *think* it's doable with a long enough stick and a headlamp on!

But I am wondering if a decent alternative would be to tape the OUTSIDE of the seam in that section instead. Would the lack of dookie schmutz inside the joint (between where the end pour ends and the inside fillet/tape begins) pose a problem? Has anybody done this? Or maybe I could put the dookie stuff inside the joint and tape the outside????

I hope to do the end pours tomorrow, so any interior filleting and taping will need to be done tonight.
