Strip: End pours

Hi all
In Nicks book he talks about mixing an end pour of epoxy, microballoons, wood dust and foam. Does he mean foam rubber or polystyrene foam, for instance could you use bean bag balls. I assume the mix is to give more volume for least weight, and given the purpose is to seal anything missed by the sealing tape and also provide somewhere to put the grab handles through does anyone have an idea of optimum size, eg 1 cup, 2 cups, more?
Thanks
David
