Epoxy: A few little questions....

I wonder if someone can be of assistance with a question or two. I have an old pointed nose fibreglass kayak that I want to make a little more 'sea worthy' by glassing a knife edged bow out front. I have another old yak with just the right shape and I want to use this boat as a mold. My first question is, do I need to use a specific wax in order to get the mold to release or is there another (more economical) product that I could use. I was wondering if using something like heavy duty plastic wrap would work as well. The plastic wrap would be on the inside of the boat so the aesthetic side of things would not be a problem, but would the resin eat away at it and end up adhering to the boast anyway? Any other suggestions would be most welcome. Also I want to increase the size of the cockpit as the boat was originally built for someone a little smaller than myself. Any suggestions on the best and easiest way of re-forming the coaming of the new cockpit? My initial thoughts were to create some formwork using cardboard and large diameter rubber hosing. All advice gratefully accepted!
