Material: Guillemot, how many strips do I need ?

Greetings,

I'm about to order strips (from either Newfound Woodowrks or Noah's Marine) and I'm not sure how many strips would I need for a Guillemot 17 (this will be my first strip boat, having build a S&G Arctic Tern this year)

According to Newfound, a kayak usually uses 1200 lf of wood. Noah's Marine sells a stash of 55 strips (I believe they're 16'-17' long), however, this is around 900 lf of wood.

How much wood in term of strips (assuming 16'17' like Noah's) or linear feet (according to the Newfound) do I need for a boat like the Guillemot ? I don't want to order too little and having to be extremely cautious in how the stripping goes (remember, it'll be my first strip) but I'd like to no ending up with many leftover strips (I'm planning to use 3/4" wide strips).

I was planning to mill my own strips, but some problems that I'm having with my saw table will prevent me to do the stripping for a while (I plan to use the wood I already have for a second boat later for my wife), buying the strips pre-milled will allow me to start the stripping of the first Guillemot before the end of the year.

Thanks in advance for you reply,

Hugo
