: I'm anticipating building a couple of SOF kayaks for my sons (after finishing
: a couple of Shearwaters and a Pygmy AT 17), and so I was searching for
: fabrics and came across seattlefabrics.com, which sells a marine-grade
: cordura-type polyester (600x600) called Sur Last (then I found
: surlast.com). Is this the type of fabric I should be looking for (it's an
: oxford weave), or can somebody tell me a brand name/item name so I can get
: the right thing.
: Thanks very much.

I recently visited Brewery Creek Boatbuilding in Vancouver, Canada. The owner is Robert Morris, the author of Skin Boat Building. They sell material to cover skin on frame kayaks. I think the price was something like $11/foot Canadian. The web address is http://www.brewerycreek.ca/pages/home.html.

I am building an Arctic Tern 17 right now. Cut the hatches and now am finishing shear seams, seat and foot pegs before I finish up the hatches. How do like the boat? It has been quite sometime since I paddled one up in Port Townsend.
