I used what you call the regular dado blade setup for probably more than 15 years. It worked fine and I still have several sets. However...along came the wobble type of dado blade and I switched to it....probably for the last 20 years. There is a difference in quality of the wobble blade setups. You need to buy a good one. I have nothing against Harbor Freight, in fact I buy lots of stuff there, but....you need quality in the wobble dado blade. It works great. The ones I have are accurate, easy to adjust, and make clean cuts. An alternative which has actually replaced most of the use of dado blades for me has already been mentioned by someone else and that is to use a router, appropriate sized bit, and a straight edge
