Strip: Idea for deck rigging

Hi

Has anyone used wire-ties to make a pad-eye.
I have been experimenting a little with this.
I have used 8mm wide and 300mm long wire ties, black and UV-resistant and made some for test. I cut 2 slots in a stripped test board, 8-10mm long and 7-8mm apart, cut the wire-ties in ca.40mm long pieces bend in a U-shape and thread thru both slots smooth side out, leaving an eye wide and high enough for rope or cord. I glued with fast-setting epoxy (hardware-store- ). I tested the strenght with my own weight and it held up. It's cheap and easy to replace and looks quite good.
Just an Idea

Petter
