Many threads here about carving seats from ethafoam, I've learned something new in each of them. The most recent mentioned a supplier, from whom I ordered a 2ft x 2ft block. Those guys suggested something I'd never heard of: covering the carved ethafoam with neoprene for cushioning and "grip." They recommended 3/8 inch neo, but I chickened out and ordered 1/8 inch, figuring it would conform to the contour better.
1) How do you like the upholstering idea? Is grip good? Seems like it might make it hard to lay back or squirm around if you need to. (The supplier is in Tennessee, probably more oriented to WW boats.)
2) Can you suggest an adhesive that would give me some working time to smooth out the fit (unlike contact cement).
