I ran across these satelite images while responding to the "Fish Tale" thread. I'm blown away by it. I am able to zoom right into a view you might get flying 500 ft above R2K* campsites (sore subject ). Anyway, there is no substitute for NOAA charts and tide tables but I think it could be useful for scoping trips ahead of time. The image URLs contain question marks "?" which means you can't post them here but it looks like you can link to them easily enough. I'm still figuring it out.
I had heard about this project some time ago; that Microsoft was using it to prove their database product was as good as Oracle. This is the first chance I've had to try it.
