Material: Epoxy and Glass Question

Hey Guys,

I'm getting ready to order the epoxy and glass for the L. I've been busy comparing prices and have, maybe, settled on US Composits. Has anyone used their 635 thin resin/556 slow hardener combination with their 4oz plain weave E glass? Any problems obtaining a good, clear wet-out. I used MAS epoxy and 6oz E glass on my first yak and was wondering how the US Composits epoxy compares in clarity with the MAS epoxy. Their info says its simi-clear . . not sure how clear that is.

I would love to hear any of your experiences with these products - pro or con.

Also would like to hear your thoughts on Glassing schedules. The L will be used primarily in Florida's lazy rivers and lakes with an ocasional trip to Fl's. coastal areas. My normal tendency is to seriously overbuild and I would like to lighten up a bit on this one as long as I'm not compromising the structural integrity of the boat.

TIA for your response.

Happy Building.

Charles
