Got some serious work done on the folding Igdlorssuit kayak ("Anas Acuta") this weekend. All gunwales, stringers, and keel cut and fit. Ferrules at every 4' tube joint. Went for quasi-traditional "deck plates" to fit the ends of the gunwales. Not so much as a nod to traditional technique, but that was the best way to capture the ends of the gunwales with some strength in the joint.

Now on to drilling all of the poprivet holes to hold ferrules and frames in place.

Thanks to Tom Yost for the aluminum tubing/plastic frame folder inspiration. Skin will likely be Tacoma Tarp 9oz. polyester cloth with black latex roof coating as a sealant. I want this yak to look fairly traditional when I'm paddling it, so it might even have bone sliders on leather decklines.
