Launching: All I wanted was a simple, quick and dirty... *Pic*

Well, Finally! This was supposed to be a quick-built boat, and I did cut corners here and there, but in general I got carried away. This is the same hull as the Rob Bryan 'Seguin' I built seven years ago,(17'-10" x 21") but I wanted something I could take my kids out in. Calder and Sawyer are 6 and 10, and this idea actually worked! Sort of. Pretty dang tippy, but with two of us in there, it was all right. We need to wait for warmer weather and water so we don't mind tipping over. Then I think we can practice a bit, and the boys won't feel quite so much like their lives are in danger. In any case, it was fun to build, and it'll make a pretty good single. (With some covers and a spray skirt!) As far as safety goes, each end is foamed solid for about 2', and there's more air trapped in the storage area, so it won't be sinking anytime soon. Next kayak will be SOF. Currently collecting books on the topic. I hope the picture works... I had to create a new photo page on our old website- we haven't used the site since June. Hope I did this right! Many thanks to Nick for providing a terrific and well-run forum. Peace- Steve
