: Is it possible to use canvas awning material (used) for a skin? It is large
: sheets, but it will need to be sewn together or tacked in key locations.
: It has also seen a few years of sunlight and may have been treated with a
: fungicide in the past. Am I wasting my time with this, should I just buy
: new canvas? I've seen both 10 and 15 oz canvas discussed, which one is
: appropriate?

Hi Tom

I had several pieces of awning I was going to use for a skin. When I saw that it was going to take several seams to get a useable size, I opted for a new piece of canvas,(10oz)
The awning had stripes and wear spots and I don't think it would shrink up well with whatever coating was allready on it ,
The new canvas was easy to sew and took paint well. For $27.00 it wasn't worth it to use the awnings.

Good luck with yours. Terry
