S&G: Progress and Question *LINK* *Pic*

Hello all,
Got the glass done and three fill coats on the deck. After the first fill, I scraped some of the bumps over the graphics. I was left with white spots.(see pic) I thought that they would vanish under the next fill coat. Nope!! I think they are here to stay, unless I sand the graphic off and start over. I did color some of them with permanent marker, they did hide somewhat.
In the interest of experience, why did I get them? How can I avoid them?
On a good note, I assembled the coaming riser. I used instant glue at the deck joint, and wood glue in the bead/cove. The job took 3 hours. (instant cure glue as a clamp)
Thanx everyone, for the support.
Steve
