Unlike my previous project, I've been taking lots of photos of my second boat (well over two hundred pics for the first 153 hours of work), so I thought I'd post a pic, having reached the milestone of finishing stripping the deck.

The boat is an S+G hull (based on Squeedunk's Cormorant 16, but scaled at 24mm per inch of Squeedunk's published panel offsets to give a length overall of 466 cm) with a stripped deck. The deck height roughly matches Squeedunk's multi-panel deck, but is a half-ellipse section, with a height above sheer of 0.235 times the beam forward and 0.175 times the beam aft. The aft rim only of the cockpit is recessed. There will be a VCP round hatch on the foredeck, and a tiny Kajak-sport round hatch way aft, to give access to the skeg control cable. Otherwise, the aft deck is clean, access to the aft compartment will be through the bulkhead behind the cockpit.

The woods visible on the photo are Cedar, pine and purpleheart, with Okoume marine ply for the hull and hatch cover recesses. Not visible on this pic are the hatch recess rims (the small aft hatch recess is built - I'm waiting for glue to dry on the forward hatch recess as I type). The recess rims are padauk, which is one hell of a lot easier to work with than that purpleheart !!!

Start date was December 20th. Projected launch is before Easter.
