Epoxy: Saturation coat

I have put the saturation coat of epoxy on my Arctic Tern. The coat has been on about 36 hours and is curing but still too tacky to put the fiberglass on.It has been 50-60 during the day here and colder at night. Right now I have a heater going in the garage to try and warm it up so the epoxy will cure. My question is this: I know that epoxy work should be done within 72 hours of each coat but does this time go for time after cure or from time the epoxy was put on? How critical is this time period? I am using System 3 epoxy. I really do not want to sand the entire hull before putting the fiberglass on. Thanks for any advice. I think I'll take the double out this afternoon while I anxiously await the epoxy to cure.
