: Great looking frame. Cant wait to see her fully dressed and dancing. What
: type of wood are you using? I would like to get your impressions of the

: ribs?

Arko,

The gunwales, stems, breast hook and keelson were made from red wood; ribs were from red oak; masik, beam #6, chines, and stringers from fir. The deck beams started off with phillipine mahogany but most were changed to red wood or western red cedar (left over pieces from making Greenland paddles). I like the look of the mahogany but it was WAY TOO HEAVY.

I let you know what my impression of the poly is when I am done. (Of course, I have no great comparison since this is my first boat.) I like the apparent tightness of the weave in the photos posted by Mike (or was that Bill?).
