S&G: Filling stitch holes

I know I've seen it before either on this board, or on the kayakforum.com, but can't seem to find it again:
Is there a way to fill the wiring holes with some substance to hide the holes, after stitching? Does epoxy with wood flour make an adequate match with okuome, or does one need to "color match" by some method? (kayak will be varnished). I plan to "tab" the interior fillets, and pull the wires, and then fill. Thanks to all, Brian
