hitch rack

I should have mentioned that one nice thing about using this hitch rack is that the upper support bar pivits. This makes it very easy for a single person to load the long and wide double. I usually turn it sideways and slip the rear of the kayak onto the rear rack leaving the front resting on the ground. Then walk over to the front and pick it up and just walk it around and drop into the front roof rack cradle.

I should note that I strategically place my life vest or a towel on the ground for the front of the kayak to rest on, unless its in a grassy or sandy area, while loading and unloading.
