For those of you still using staples, below is a little jig I worked up so that all of the staples would line up perfectly and would be centered on the strips. I figure if I am going to make the little hole they might as well line up and be spaced evenly.
The overhang lines up with the form and the horizontal bead fits into the cove of the previous strip. You can attach the jig to the stapler with duct tape or just line up the jig and use it to align the stapler. The jig is specific to ¾” forms and ¾” strips. I might make another one with jigs on both sides so that I can staple from the left or right of the form.
Anyone else using somthing like this. I seem to be less than a crack shot with my staple gun unless I use this.
