I see now I explained myself poorly. What I meant was to scarf two 3/4" thick contrasting-color boards together, maybe 2" wide, through the thickness -- an end-to-end bead and cove, kind of, but the two profiles not circular. I guess I could make a jig to hold the boards vertical, and a template to route through the ends simultaneously with a rub collar or "templet" guide as Porter-Cable calls them.

The reason to make it 2" wide is to be able to rip it into 1/4' thick strips. Then the curved scarf would show across the width. Seems like it only needs to be strong enough to bend over the forms and stay in place until glassing, right?
