Other: The moment...

There is a moment when I build guitars that just makes the the whole process worthwhile. I'm sure you know what I mean. There is a moment while you're building and you get a glimpse of just how things are going to turn out.

When is that moment for you in kayak building???

When I take the clamps off after gluing the fingerboard on a guitar I can't help taking a step back and smiling knowing that this labor of love is going to turn awsome. The instrument still needs to be scraped out, inlayed, and a bunch more done to it before you can string it up. But the potential the instrument has at that moment just screams for attention

After spending the last week scarfing up plywood, transferring the Cirrus plans to it, drilling the stitching holes, and cutting out the panels I haven't hit that moment yet. There is something rather appealing though about sighting down the cut panels checking for fairness.
