S&G: Cirrus & Merganser Project Update *LINK* *Pic*

Hi everyone,
Well, I've got the recess done (had to rip off the first one) on the Cirrus and have both the Cirrus and Merganser decks glassed. I've attached an obviously stitched pic of the Cirrus and I've updated the website to outline the recess and deck-glassing steps.

Just a note for the Cirrus folks who are thinking of doing a hybrid. I thought I'd leave the flat deck lines on the station forms, since I thought it would give a cool angular look to the deck. Hmm, it sorta worked. I do like the center ridge, but the strips did not always coincide with the flats on the forms, creating some funny bumps that had to be sanded down (you can still see a few).

SO, if I were to do it over again, I'd cut the forms from the cockpit forward with a fair curve tangent to the form points (for more room) and cut the forms aft of the cockpit with a fair curve tangent to the centerpoint between the form points (for a lower rear deck).

Well, I was messing with the boats instead of watching the Superbowl, so I've no idea who won the "Best Commercial" award. Hope I'm not being Unnermurican. :D

Jim
