Strip: More Toe Room

I'm building a basswood and walnut Endeavor kayak and I have a question about what would be the best way to add toe room. I need about an inch or two of extra deck height in the foot region. What is the best way to do this? Should I raise the height of the sheer clamp all the way around by 1 1/2 inches? Should I just put more curvature in the deck? It already curves upward dramatically. Should I make a sheer clamp that doesn't make a straight line across the boat and have it curve upward at those stations where my feet go? Thank you for any ideas you may have.
