Epoxy: Additives

I'm currently stripping two kayaks, a 14' and a 17'. I've only done small fiberglass jobs in the past. I started to put together my list for mail ordering my epoxy supplies from System Three and I have a question reguarding how much Phenolic Microballoon and Silica Thickener I might need.
I understand the microballon and silica mix is used for end pours and filling/ fairing agent on the deck and hull.
I can get both items in 1 quart or 5 quart quanities, I'm thinking 5 quarts may be way too much. Think 1 quart of each might do the trick?
Any input would be appreciated....
Thanks
