In Response To: Other: Plans (Fred)

Hello Fred,
Virtually all orders are shipped by Priority Mail the next day after the receipt of payment and the transit time is about 2-3 days. Your Money order was received about November 9 2002. It is the policy of One Ocean Kayaks that orders that arrive without Shiping and Handling charges are held until shipping payment is received or there is a request for a refund. The "Shipping & Handling" policy is unambiguously stated at the bottom of every "Order Page".
http://oneoceankayaks.com/Ordering.htm

You have been notified to this effect TWICE after your payment arived, without any response on your end. Your message at this forum is the first response from you I have seen and I frankly do not understand why you have not responded to my emails or contacted me in the first place.

I am always glad to send "insufficient funds" back and from your message it appears that it is your wish. The original Money order will be sent back.

Best Regards
Vaclav

: How long does it normally take to receive a set of plans after mailing out a
: check/money order?
: I ordered a set of plans for a "Cape Ann Storm" & building
: manual from one ocean kayaks with a postal money order November 5 &
: threw away the reciept accidentally when cleaning out my car. If I still
: had it, I think I'd put a stop payment or whatever it is you do with money
: orders to stop someone from getting any money out of it. Or am I wrong for
: thinking that way & plans/manuals are printed in small batches because
: of limited demand?
: I sent a money order instead of a check so that I would get it faster
: (without waiting for a check to clear)because I rarely have much work mid
: Nov.,Dec.,& the begining of Jan. and thought I'd be able to build
: basically full time before getting slammed with work lat Jan. or early
: Feb. It would be my first time building & I assumed that roughly 3
: months of near full time work on it would probably finish it, or at the
: very least be at a point where I could safely move it.
: I enjoy woodwork & the idea wasn't to get it over with ASAP, but to have
: the work space available when I need it again.
: I ordered my router bits & japanese saw from Lee Valley at the same time
: with another money order, & they've been here for quite a while. I
: have relatives & friends all over the world, & nothing ever takes
: this long to get to me or to them.
: At this point I'm not expecting to receive the plans at all. Even if I did,
: without any prior experience building something like this I don't know if
: I'd be able to get to the point in constuction I'd need to be at, before
: needing the work space.
: At this point I'm pretty discouraged & would probably get rid of the
: plans if they came in, so that I didn't have to look at them for a whole
: year before I had another chance to start.
