The name Sletter could be an adverb meaning *eraser* or *make smooth*, or a substantive meaning *lowland plain*. There are three islands with a very spesial bird- and plant life, and it is a nature reserve in the Oslo fjord in Norway. They are mostly volcanic rock and the water dept goes down to more than 400 meter just outside the islands.. They make a natural barrier against the most common wind here. The sea can be really rough outside the islands, while it is calm and smooth on the inside.
