Strip: Fillers and epoxy questions

I知 building my first and hopefully not my last boat as I知 sure the next one will be perfect! I知 building a Guillemot single and following the directions in Nicks book. And after reading other books Nicks is the best single resource I have found. Most of the question I have had disappear as soon as I get to that point in the building process so I hope my questions are not to dense.
Currently I知 filling in the cockpit recess and I have some small gaps to fill. I have some DAP wood filler that matches well. Any problems using it?
I also have some question on glassing the boat. I知 thinking of using System Three Clear Coat to wet out the cloth and then fill the weave with the standard System Three with the #1 or #2 hardener. I imagine I can use the #1 fast hardener as the cloth will be down and application should go quick.
Or should I use the clear coat through out or the standard epoxy using the #2 hardener to give me more time to work? And on the final finish I知 undecided on Varnish or the System Three LPU Topcoat. From what I understand varnish is the standard finish used by most builders. The advantage to the LPU is that is a more durable finish at least that痴 the impression I have received from reading past discussions. Any input is greatly appreciated as I have almost no experience working with epoxy.

I have to thank the people that make up this board. I have found everyone to be very knowledgeable, helpful and even entertaining!

Thanks
