Launching: I think I have a winner! *Pic*

I got to try my new Walrus yesterday.

Thanks goes to Mike Hanks, who's plywood one gave me the inspiration.
And due credit to Joe Greenley, who graciously allowed me the use of the Spring Run bow and stern curves, and it's coaming.

And thanks to the City of Silverton, who gave me the keys to thier closed reservoir so I could continue my launching tradition.

Note the recessed coaming and the Cunningham-style deck fittings. The toggles bungeed back - these will be hooked to the deck lines when it's rigged.

There is no varnish yet, I need to tweek the knee pads and get the hatches sealed, and then take it out in the rough. But it handles exactly as I had hoped it would! Quick and nimble, and seems to be balanced. I'll know more when I get it in the wind.
