Thanks to everyone who chimed in on my epoxy and tape simultaneously question earlier this week. I just finished doing the interior hull fillets without the tape. I decided to fillet over the stitches on the interior in lieu of tabbing. Also I put masking tape on the exterior joints to keep epoxy from oozing through. It all worked rather well although my filleting abilities match my caulking abilities and, well.....I'm just glad that this is the interior of the boat and mostly unseen. I am going to run tape over all the joints as well as glassing the cockpit. Before that I am going to have to do a lot of sanding due to my sloppy work. Also I am going to run another larger fillet over the ones I just did at the side to bottom joints to cover the stitches a little better. I did some test fillets but when it came to mixing up full batches and going for it I performed very awkwardly (guess I'll try to improve that process on my next kayak building project). Still all in all I am pretty happy with the progress. Here is the kayak earlier today prior to filleting. You can see my $20 pvc hoop enclosure in the picture also (another hot tip from forum members). It has held up under some decent rain and wind this month too.
